Marriot Hotel Customer service and sale work at home job

This is a Home Agent Position.    You will work from home within 90 days after completing training.  You must provide a quiet work space, desk/chair, Internet connection and phone line. We provide the equipment.
 
This is a Day Training Class Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5 PM M-F for 4 weeks in Omaha Nebraska   You MUST be able to attend all training classes.  There are NO EXCUSED ABSENCES for Training.
 
Must be able to work weekends which could include Saturday and Sunday.
 
Must be able to work either a Monday or a Friday shift.
 
You must be available for schedules up to 2:30 AM every day that you are scheduled.  Most hours available WILL be evening hours u to 0230 AM.
You will be required to work on holidays.
 
Our base wage is $9 per hour.  After 90 days you will be increased to $9.25 per hour.  Yearly Merit Increases and many opportunities for advancement.
(After training, hours after 6:00 p.m. qualify for shift differentials.  You can earn up to $12.00 per hour.  Also you are eligible for performance bonus after training.)
 
You must live within a 50 mile radius of the reservation center.  We are not offering remote agent positions at this time
 
Job Summary
 
      Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail. Identify guest reservation needs and determine appropriate room type. Verify availability of room type and rate. Explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies to callers. Accommodate and document special requests. Answer questions about property facilities/services and room accommodations. Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue. Input and access data in reservation system. Indicate special room reservation types (e.g., complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel agent inspection rates, and wholesale reservations) by inputting the correct code and rate into the reservation system. Follow proper escalation procedures when addressing guest concerns.
 
     Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets; protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

What are we looking for?

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum 1 year steady job history in a customer oriented and/or sales role
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a role requiring you to work well with people, negotiate, overcome objections, and/or upsell/cross sell
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills, including the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
  • Computer proficiency, including ability to easily navigate and toggle between multiple screens,  talk and type at the same time, and troubleshoot basic computer issues
  • Ability to sit for 4 hours taking back to back inbound calls
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese)
  • 4 year degree
  • Previous Hospitality Sales Experience
Required Job Schedule Requirements:                      
  • In this work at home position you be able to choose from a variety of Full Time schedules.  Schedules will include weekend hours and some holidays.
  • You must be available for our 7 week training program held onsite Monday through Friday. Training will begin on: September 17th. Hours of Training are: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST
