The Work at Home Customer Care Representative is responsible for providing an all-inclusive, comprehensive customer service experience for our customers. This includes using your advanced technical knowledge to provide technical support for programming and/or equipment issues. This position collects extensive data on all new cancer patients seen at UNC Hospitals, as required by state law and according to regulations established by various state and national registries. The job duties include:

Creating case abstracts for cancer patients and extracting data items from the various medical records in accordance with ACoS/CoC standards.  
Performing necessary research, analysis, interpretation and decision-making to best abstract, stage or sequence information.
Follow-up on each case abstracted for the life of the patient.
Extracts the required information from in-house or external source



Requirements for Raters

Bachelors degree in any field
Teaching experience strongly preferred
Graduate students/ substitute teachers encouraged to apply


Raters will be trained to appropriately apply rubrics for each prompt, following benchmark sample responses exemplifying the quality required for each score point so that every prompt is scored using the same general criteria. Raters who successfully pass the ETS certification exam will be able to score from their home or office using ETSs Online Network for Evaluation system.
