May 2021 Side Hustlers Income Reports

 I love when side hustlers share their income especially when they are getting out of debt!  There is a way to make extra money each month when you are hustling!

Excited about the two recent side hustles that I started last month. As long as I can average 1 User Test a month I'd be happy, and I've been killing it with my UGC for Billo (even though it can be a bit draining if you have to do a few videos all in one day).

Now, what I've learned this past month is that those two get paid out to my Paypal account, so I'm going to keep it in there until the end of the month so that I can set it all aside in my savings account. I didn't do that this time and ended up using some funds this time around

ToriBelle Magnetic Lashes: Favorite... actually went to the conference in April. Yes, it's an MLM. I know they're not for all but I've found success WITHOUT having to spend a boatload of my own money to be successful. Not all MLM are created equal friends

Travel Agent: Again, I have so many trips planned for late summer and fall and you do not get commissions on your booked trips until they are actually traveled. Watch this one grow a LOT in September-December. In fact, I was recently able to book a Disney Christmas trip that will bring commission close to 1k!! 💃 This is definitely the marathon, not sprint, at least at first. I've had a lot of questions (sometimes accusations) about this being MLM. Being a travel agent is NOT. Being a travel agent "sponsor" IS. This Income he re is solely based on my travel bookings.

Amazon Affiliate: This is free to do, guys. It takes a little work to build the group on your part... but then you pay nothing to do it. 

Extra Shifts: This is just working extra shifts at my traditional "9-5". Took a huge hit this last month as I fell down the stairs, dislocated my shoulder and had to go out on short term disability

Remote applicants must live in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee. Remote Virtual experience is preferred but NOT required. Responsible for providing support with our residential customers regarding billing, repair and retention. Processes payment information and attempts to collect delinquent account balances. Education: High School Diploma / GED Relevant Work Experience: 0-2 Years Salary: Base Pay: $15.00

Core Responsibilities

  • Interacts with customers via telephone or e-mail to assist with a variety of customer inquiries and issues regarding billing, repair and retention.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems and other general account inquiries over the phone in a single customer interaction to maximize the customer experience. Articulate relevant information and directions in an organized and concise manner.
  • Communicates and explains account information to the customer with focus on first-call resolution. Accurately calculates and communicates taxes, fees, one-time charges and/or recurring monthly fees. Explains billing cycles, processes and prorates effectively to ensure that customers understand their statements.
  • Corrects discrepancies on customers' billing statements and researches customer billing situations as necessary. When appropriate, follows established escalation procedures to expedite prompt resolution.
  • Processes payment information and attempts to collect delinquent account balances.
  • Follows established troubleshooting procedures using the appropriate resources and desktop tools.
  • Produces work orders according to established business rules and provides customer appropriate guidance for unresolved out-of-scope issues.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers.
  • Acts as a product consultant, articulating product features and benefits and making recommendations based on customer needs/interests; identifying buying signals and asking for the sale, reselling current value or right-size, delivering a quality customer experience.
  • Uses multiple tools and systems (billing systems, knowledge base, technical tools etc.) and applies information to customer situations.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures while applying sound judgment within scope of their empowerment and follows guidelines for Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Educates customers and promotes self-service options.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds established goals and performance metrics.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

How much can I earn from a side hustle or an online job?

The amount of money you can make from each side hustle  will vary. You may only make a few dollars a week or you may find yourself making hundreds or thousands of dollars a month.

We track from our side hustle group  How much can I earn from a side hustle or an online job? 

It can vary depending on what exactly you are doing to earn side income, the amount of time you are devoting to it, the time and  effort you are putting towards it, and more.

Below are some estimates and ranges of what you can make with some different side hustle ideas:




Teaching English online  – $14 – $26 an hour.

Becoming a virtual assistant – $500+ a month

Taking surveys online at home – $1 to $10+ per survey.

Blogging – $0 to  hundreds or even thousands a month 

Writing articles online for others – $15 to $1000+ per article. Usually, new writers start out at around $15-$25 per article in the online world.

Renting a room in your home – $300 to $1,000+ a month You can use airbnb or rent to traveling nurses at travelingnursehousing.com 

Mystery shopping – $3 to $100+ per mystery shop. Usually, whatever you are shopping for is free, plus a small payment for your time.

Dog sitting – $25 to $100 per day. This all depends on the area you live in, the amount of work you are doing (walking the dogs, administering medication, cleaning up, etc.), and more. Rover is the recommended company

April 2021 Side Hustlers Income Reports

April's work. I found a way to work more hours at a local after school program, so that's been a huge thing for me recently. Once summer hits I will be the regional director over three facilities, which will be part time hours but more than what I'm doing now, I think, so that may go up a little more.

You can see my hours at Qkids have dropped drastically. The few hours they give me I often can't work because they're on weekends when I'm out of town. It's not consistent income.

I got a rate reduction on two credit cards - one went from 28.99% to 9% and the other went from 18.99% to 11%. So I'm starting to see dents in that debt

It also prompted a few questions 

if I can figure out my schedule, I could really make extra money. That’s my biggest problem AND I go to bed early.  How are you doing it?

I have finally found a balance! I homeschool my kids in the morning, work in the afternoon, and evenings while they are at extracurriculars. It works great for us. I don't sell as much online as I used to, and I used to do way more data entry, but I was only making about $100-200 per month usually doing that. I'd rather have this great balance and not be stressing over work/mom life!

How did you get the rate reductions? Did you just contact the credit card company directly?

Yes! I really wanted a loan but my income isn't high enough for people to take a chance on me. I finally poured my heart out to one of the loan people 🤣and she transferred me to a rate reduction counselor! They were able to help me out. It is SUCH a huge relief!

 How do you find your side hustle?

There are millions of different side hustles out there in the world. 


So, how do you find the best one for you? 


Since there are so many ways to make extra money, it’s easy to get overwhelmed when choosing one for yourself.

Are you passionate about your side hustle idea? While you don’t need to be extremely jazzed , it may help you decide between a side hustle you hate and one that you love. Or, you may just be passionate about the fact that your side hustle will allow you to reach your goals like paying off debt or going on an annual vacation ! It all depends on your mindset and what you want out of it.

Are you able to  earn money with it? Someone else may be able to earn an income from a specific side job, but can you?

Do you have enough time? Does the side hustle fit into your schedule? Some side jobs take a couple of hours each week and others take many more.

Work at Home By Teaching English Online


Are you skilled in the area, or can you become skilled? Do you need a bachelor's or college degree?  It’s better to know this before you waste too much of your time and figure out that you don’t have the skills needed. Sure, there are some skills you can easily learn, but others may not be worthwhile. 

How much money do you need to start? Will it take a lot of money to start your side hustle? If so, can you afford that?

Will your day job allow you to have the side hustle? This is one of the common questions about having a side job that I’m often asked, and I will answer it in more detail further down. 


Answering these questions will help you narrow down the side hustle ideas you are thinking about. 

I recommend creating a pros and cons list too, if you are stuck between a few different side hustle options.
