A few questions popped up

Do you like Alorica I see them advertising all the time for work at home jobs

I do like Alorica. The skill that I’m on is open mainly during my ft job hours. But yes, I do.

Is my goal to make 1k unreasonable on Cambly? I just started

it’s doable if you commit to lots of hours. I can’t because I have a full time job and a couple of pt jobs. But yes, go for it.

Excited about the two recent side hustles that I started last month. As long as I can average 1 User Test a month I'd be happy, and I've been killing it with my UGC for Billo (even though it can be a bit draining if you have to do a few videos all in one day).

Now, what I've learned this past month is that those two get paid out to my Paypal account, so I'm going to keep it in there until the end of the month so that I can set it all aside in my savings account. I didn't do that this time and ended up using some funds this time around

May Extra Income:

Marketplace: Gave a bunch away, sold nothing.

Senegence: Slowly stepping out of this business and diving deeper into this 👇👇.

ToriBelle Magnetic Lashes: Favorite... actually went to the conference in April. Yes, it's an MLM. I know they're not for all but I've found success WITHOUT having to spend a boatload of my own money to be successful. Not all MLM are created equal friends

Travel Agent: Again, I have so many trips planned for late summer and fall and you do not get commissions on your booked trips until they are actually traveled. Watch this one grow a LOT in September-December. In fact, I was recently able to book a Disney Christmas trip that will bring commission close to 1k!! 💃 This is definitely the marathon, not sprint, at least at first. I've had a lot of questions (sometimes accusations) about this being MLM. Being a travel agent is NOT. Being a travel agent "sponsor" IS. This Income he re is solely based on my travel bookings.

Amazon Affiliate: This is free to do, guys. It takes a little work to build the group on your part... but then you pay nothing to do it.

Extra Shifts: This is just working extra shifts at my traditional "9-5". Took a huge hit this last month as I fell down the stairs, dislocated my shoulder and had to go out on short term disability

April's work. I found a way to work more hours at a local after school program, so that's been a huge thing for me recently. Once summer hits I will be the regional director over three facilities, which will be part time hours but more than what I'm doing now, I think, so that may go up a little more.

You can see my hours at Qkids have dropped drastically. The few hours they give me I often can't work because they're on weekends when I'm out of town. It's not consistent income.

I got a rate reduction on two credit cards - one went from 28.99% to 9% and the other went from 18.99% to 11%. So I'm starting to see dents in that debt

It also prompted a few questions

if I can figure out my schedule, I could really make extra money. That’s my biggest problem AND I go to bed early.  How are you doing it?

I have finally found a balance! I homeschool my kids in the morning, work in the afternoon, and evenings while they are at extracurriculars. It works great for us. I don't sell as much online as I used to, and I used to do way more data entry, but I was only making about $100-200 per month usually doing that. I'd rather have this great balance and not be stressing over work/mom life!

How did you get the rate reductions? Did you just contact the credit card company directly?

Yes! I really wanted a loan but my income isn't high enough for people to take a chance on me. I finally poured my heart out to one of the loan people 🤣and she transferred me to a rate reduction counselor! They were able to help me out. It is SUCH a huge relief!

This is my side hustle total for the month of April. It could've been so much better but I slacked in April. I'm thinking May will be about $300 more than April.

FIRST-TIME POSTER OF MY MONTHLY TOTAL! **

I'm putting all my Ad Rating and Secret Shopper money towards paying off two credit cards and putting the rest in a separate account for savings. Unfortunately, I'm 1099 with 2 clients and they've both been kind of slow lately, so I'm glad I've been able to do some of this other stuff to help out.

How do you find your side hustle?

How do you find your side hustle?

There are millions of different side hustles out there in the world.

So, how do you find the best one for you?

Since there are so many ways to make extra money, it’s easy to get overwhelmed when choosing one for yourself.

9 companies offering great work-from-home jobs

Are you passionate about your side hustle idea? While you don’t need to be extremely jazzed , it may help you decide between a side hustle you hate and one that you love. Or, you may just be passionate about the fact that your side hustle will allow you to reach your goals like paying off debt or going on an annual vacation ! It all depends on your mindset and what you want out of it.

Are you able to  earn money with it? Someone else may be able to earn an income from a specific side job, but can you?

Do you have enough time? Does the side hustle fit into your schedule? Some side jobs take a couple of hours each week and others take many more.

Are you skilled in the area, or can you become skilled? Do you need a bachelor's or college degree?  It’s better to know this before you waste too much of your time and figure out that you don’t have the skills needed. Sure, there are some skills you can easily learn, but others may not be worthwhile.

How much money do you need to start? Will it take a lot of money to start your side hustle? If so, can you afford that?

Will your day job allow you to have the side hustle? This is one of the common questions about having a side job that I’m often asked, and I will answer it in more detail further down.

Answering these questions will help you narrow down the side hustle ideas you are thinking about.

I recommend creating a pros and cons list too, if you are stuck between a few different side hustle options.

5 ways to spot a work at home scam

FlexJobs provided us with five ways to avoid these fake  work at home job scams!  Trust your gut if it sounds too good to be true it probably is

1. Never Pay for an Interview

The company may want you to pay them to train you, purchase software or invest in some way in order to get the job. Legitimate companies won’t make you spend money in order to work for them.

Often, legitimate job postings will list the equipment or specific software you need or provide it as a part of training once you are hired. You can usually find this information in the job listing.

For example Uhaul often hires work at home workers  here are some of their requirements

The following technical requirements must be met to work from home:

*Computer requirements and internet speed will be verified as part of the interview process.

Have a non-wireless USB headset with a microphone.

Have a web cam for use interacting with your manager. Not for use with customers.

Have minimum Internet speed requirements: 10MB down / 5MB up

Windows or Mac OS allowed;

If Windows then Windows 10 is required.

If Mac then Mojave or newer is required.

Minimum RAM requirements: 8GB of RAM or greater.

Work at Home By Teaching English Online

2. Watch Out for the Type of Interview the Company Offers

Usually, companies will do in-person, phone or video chat interviews. If the business you apply to only wants to conduct interviews via online chat, be careful.

A huge red flag for instant message interviews is when the company doesn’t ask many in-depth questions about your skills or offers you the job immediately.

Pressuring you to accept their offer quickly is another bad sign. A scammer might try to get you to act without thinking, so always take a step back and consider if this offer is too good to be true.

However, some major companies like Amazon have been known to do chat interviews with people applying for specific customer service positions. Doing a lot of research about the company before your interview is vital, especially if they only want to conduct interviews over chat.

3. Look for a Detailed Job Description

Real jobs need people with specific skills, so companies will lay them out in a real listing. If a job description looks vague, only highlights benefits or has noticeable grammatical errors, it’s likely illegitimate.  I  often call these vague ones that you are posting a job link for others to pay call mailbox money scams.

Benefits highlighted will usually be things like how much money you’ll get for relatively little work.

Another red flag here could be a lack of responsibilities listed in the posting. A real company will tell you what work they expect you to perform as an employee.

4. Research the Company!

This is extremely important during any job hunt. Typing the company name and the word “scam” into a search engine is a simple way to find out if a company is legitimate.

You should be able to find reports from the FBI or FTC and Better Business Bureau ratings. You can also look for forums where people post experiences with a company.

A company’s website can also tell you if they’re legitimate or not with a quick glance. If the site has grammatical errors or weird punctuation scattered throughout, it’s probably a scam.

5. Ask a Lot of Questions

Another simple and effective way to spot a scam is to ask questions like:

Why did this position become available?

What are the key qualifications?

How long has the business existed?

Who are some of your clients?

If you get a bad feeling or the interviewer struggles to answer, you probably want to ditch this company.

Another common scam is where they will send you a check or payment for equipment and ask for the difference we had someone report this one

Below is one of the messages from him regarding the equipment. Does this look legitimate?

The funds for the software's cost ($1,958.00 Dollars) The company will provide you the Funds for the software's by a Scanning Company check Sent to your email, you will print it out the check with your printer , cut the edges of the check both the front and back Cut it into shape then you will endorse the back of the check and sign, snap the front and back of the check with your Mobile banking app for mobile Check deposit directly into your account with your online banking App , The Funds will be process and available in your account and ready for use, you are to deduct $115.00 as your sign on bonus and the rest of the funds will be for use to purchase of your working software's. I will be here to refer you to the vendor whom you will be making the purchase from. Do you understand this part?

Finally!   trust your gut. If you think something is fishy for even a moment: Stop, think and research.  Also ask in our facebook group, I am really good about being a detective and can usually spot even the smartest con artist out there.

For the first time in almost a year, I forgot to track my income... ðŸ˜‚ I THINK this is about right. I didn't count my half of our stimulus check even though I guess that was technically income. I took extra hours at the after school program I've been working for. I also took steps to get my credit card rates reduced, so I'm hoping in two months or less I will see more of that debt being chipped away!

I have GREATLY lessened my teaching hours for Qkids, for one thing (I think my April check will be around $13 🤣). I homeschool my kids and hang out with them in the mornings, and around lunchtime I go to work. I'm off by 6:30 most nights. If my kids are at extracurriculars  when I get off work I can put in extra hours at church until I go pick them up. I also have extra hours at church to work on Sundays and Wednesday nights. I also fit work in while they're at the neighbor's house, or on the trampoline, or watching a movie. We have the work/home/school life balanced pretty well. We don't hang with friends like we did before I started working more hours, but for now it's worth it. I love my jobs and my kids can come with me to either of my main ones.

Here are my extra March earnings.

Marketplace: Sold a few things... and every month.

Senegence: Slow...but because I was inconsistent.

ToriBelle Magnetic Lashes: Favorite... actually going to the conference for this because I love this business so much, EVEN THOUGH it's an MLM. 🤣😂🤣 Hear me, friends, I know they're not for everyone. 😘

Travel Agent: Well. I know how sad this looks but that is because this business is about looking at the long game. I have so many trips planned for late summer and fall and you do not get commissions on your booked trips until they are actually traveled. Watch this one grow a LOT on September-December.

Amazon Affiliate: This is a new one to my list. It is free to become an Amazon affiliate. The trick is that you have to have a large enough following to keep your position. Took me a few tries but I grew my group significantly in February into March and my application is no longer conditionally approved.

Extra Shifts: This is just working extra shifts at my traditional "9-5".
